Happy New Year! Can you believe it’s 2025 🫣 Wasn’t it just June? Though January is always extra cold here in Seattle, we do love the feeling of a fresh new year! Have you set your New Year’s Resolutions yet? Maybe you’re joining the diet/exercise resolution train, or maybe you’re looking for some FUN new years resolutions!?!
We have some fun New Year’s Resolutions/goals for Last Seen Wearing and are super excited to share with you what we are planning to explore in 2025. Keeping up with fashion trends is still going to be our #1, but we are also focusing on a few personal interests. Think mind, body and soul – while wearing a cute outfit! 😉
New Skin: Dry Winter Skin No More
Julie: One of my New Year’s Resolutions is to crack the code on having hydrated skin in the winter! We get some brutal dry + cold air here in Seattle. My skin feels moisturized through the summer and fall and but as soon as the heat turns on in my house, all the moisture is suddenly sucked right out of my skin! I’m going to bring you along on my journey and share products and techniques I’ve discovered to keep my skin glowing regardless of the colder temps.
New Accessories: Double the holes, double the accessories!
We’ll be holding hands for this one – we’re both getting new ear piercings! We both only have one piercing, and now we’re going for two! Earrings are such a fun way to accessorize, and we are excited to be able to create new earring looks! Obviously this is a small change, but sometimes that’s all it takes to feel refreshed!
If you’ve been following us for a while, you know our love for Miranda Frye jewelry. We have our eye on these studs and these huggies…won’t they make the cutest ear stack??
New Body: A Cleanse and a Fast
We’ve shared before that we periodically do something that is a bit more challenging to benefit our bodies and improve our nutrition throughout the year. We know cleanses and fasts are sometimes controversial, but we have seen the benefits and love them! We’ll keep you posted on when we start and provide you a full report during and after with our results!
Krista: For me, I’ll be doing the Prolon 5-Day Fasting Mimicking Diet. The Prolon 5-Day Fasting Mimicking Diet provides all the benefits of a fast, while you are able to eat scientifically formulated food that keeps your body in a fasting state. These fasting benefits include cellular rejuvenation (autophagy), metabolic support, mental clarity upon completion of the fast, skin hydration and texture improvements, a changed relationship with food, and energy support.
Julie: Twice a year I do a 7-day functional medicine detox through EquiLife. My parents have both suffered from dementia, and through my research I’ve learned that in addition to diet, exercise, sleep, and stress reduction, one of the biggest contributors to dementia is inflammation in the brain brought on by toxic overload and gut-based dysfunction in the body. Our bodies, specifically our liver, are designed to flush out all this bad stuff, but over time, our bodies are overloaded with toxins from food, the environment, and our lifestyle. By “detoxing” the liver, it’s possible to safely remove free and stored toxins from your body. This not only improves brain health, but you may also see results in weight loss, reduced bloating, less joint pain, more energy, and overall health. I like that this detox combines nutritional shakes with REAL food (albeit a restricted list).
New Hair: Going in for the chop!
Krista: I am thinking about starting 2025 with a fresh cut! I’m going for a bob that will hit just above my shoulders with lowlights to darken my sun bleached color a bit. I’m nervous about this change, but I think it will be a fun update! I’ve had many lengths of a bob in my lifetime, but we like to say “change is the update!” Sometimes making any change with our look is motivating and is just what we need to keep our look modern!
Julie: Nobody told me that hair gets more dry and brittle as you age, but here I am, and my years of highlights aren’t helping! I’ve tried Olaplex and Prose, and both are good but neither moved the needle as much as I had hoped. I’m looking for transformation, baby! Recently, we were gifted a set of Davines haircare products, and I’m very happy to report that I absolutely LOVE it! From the very first wash, my hair actually felt fresh out-of-the-salon transformed and it’s been that way with every wash since. I’ve been using the “OI” line and especially love the Hair Butter and All in One Milk.
New Lips: No fillers needed!
Krista: My new lip combo has become a Last Seen Wearing bestseller. Gucci Lipstick in the shade “Call it a Day” and Gucci lip liner in “Bordeaux” is the perfect pinky brown combo that will go with all of your everyday looks! I’m definitely a lipstick girl, and this lipstick and liner has become my go-to!
Julie: My thin lips require extra help, and I just bought a new lip liner that I’m loving. I like to slightly overline with a brownish shade and the Lune & Aster Powerlips lip in “Beautiful” is perfection. Then I color in my lips with a brighter shade that will pop, which is currently Charlotte Tilbury lip liner in Pillow Talk. Over that, I’ll often use City Beauty’s Lip Plumping gloss for extra oomph! I’m loving the shade Sparkling Cider.
New Routine: Morning Habits
Krista: Do you grab a coffee and your phone and find your cozy spot on the sofa? Maybe turn on the TV? One of our New Year’s Resolutions is that we’re both determined to start our days with devotionals instead of scrolling on social. I love the First 5 app with several inspiring reading plans to choose from, and we both love devotionals by Lydia Brownback. Her “Contentment” devotional has been so key in keeping us focused on what really matters!
Julie: I started the Read Scripture app to read through the Bible in a year, and full-transparency, I probably downloaded it four years ago and am only halfway through! It’s an amazing app and my goal is to be consistent DAILY, complete the “year”, then focus on rereading the New Testament after that. My other goal is to find a local in-person bible study to connect with other women and have the accountability that comes with a weekly study.
We’re excited to share our journey with these fun New Year’s Resolutions! What are you working on this year? We’d love to hear them! Wishing you a wonderful start to your 2025!
XOXO,
Julie & Krista
