Finding the Perfect Black Booties

This fall, I felt like I really needed to update my black booties. During the last boot season, the pair I wore when I needed to be on my feet all day just wasn’t comfortable enough! After enduring painful feet for the sake of fashion, I knew I needed a black bootie that truly worked for my lifestyle and didn’t make me dread long days out and about. I also realized how often I reach for black boots in general – whether I’m styling casual outfits, elevated daytime looks, or something a little dressier – so it felt like the right time to find a pair that could keep up with all of that. After enduring painful feet for the sake of fashion, I knew I needed a black bootie that:

• Has a 1–2 inch heel
• Has to be comfortable to walk in all day
• Has a modern, updated style
• Has to go with most of my outfits

So this season, I made it my mission to find a black leather bootie that felt modern, sleek, and functional. Whether I’m pairing it with jeans, skirts, or dresses, I want something that seamlessly fits in with my wardrobe without forcing me to sacrifice comfort! I love a heeled boot and even a subtle kitten heel, but only if it feels supportive enough for real wear -not just for an hour or two. And while I appreciate a dramatic or trendy high heel, I needed something I could actually live in, not just look at in my closet!

Black Booties:

I love online shopping, so I filtered many websites for these criteria, and I ended up reviewing seven pairs of black boots! Here are the results of my research!

Franco Sarto Vianco Bootie

This Franco Sarto boot has a cool Chelsea detail, and I like the height of the heel. I think they’re modern and comfortable, but the shaft is too wide for my leg. My straight leg jeans didn’t fit well over the wider opening.

Dolce Vita Nonah Pointed Toe Bootie

I love Dolce Vita boots!! I own several pairs. This bootie is super comfortable and stylish with its western vibe, but ultimately I didn’t like the metal detail on the toe.

Journee Collection Lucinda Bootie

Very comfortable (Journee is always comfy!), but it has some weird stitching throughout the boot that I don’t care for. They’re also suede, and I want more of a smooth black leather bootie.

Seychelles Eagle Rock

I love a Western boot, but I need something that goes with most outfits. This boot is TOO western to coordinate with both casual and dressy looks. If you need a Western heeled boot, though, this is a cute and comfy option!

Kelsi Dagger Brooklyn Milly Pointed Toe Bootie

This one doesn’t have the all-day comfort I’m looking for, and I don’t love the textured material. Not a winner!

Crown Vintage Razia Western Bootie

This one gets runner-up status! It’s so comfortable, and I really like the brown heel. It has a subtle Western style, and it would go with a lot of my casual looks. Great price point, too! I’m still thinking about keeping these.

It pairs perfectly with sweaters, denim, dresses, and tights — a truly effortless addition to any black boots collection.

Franco Sarto Vivian Western Bootie

This stylish bootie checks all the boxes! It’s modern, comfortable, has a 2-inch heel, and it goes with most of my casual and elevated casual looks! The shaft opening isn’t too wide, either! I love the modern pointed toe that’s slightly squared off. They look great with cropped wide leg jeans, longer wide leg jeans, and also with tights and a skirt or dress!
