How We Met:
This is one of our most commonly asked questions, and it’s one of our favorite stories to tell–our love of fashion is how we met!
We met at church over 20 years ago, where we both attended a morning women’s bible study. I (Julie) was somewhat new to the church but had yet to really connect with anyone. I’d been praying for a friend, but I was beginning to feel that maybe it wasn’t going to happen. One Tuesday morning just before bible study, I handed my desire for a friend over to God and decided to let it go. Later that morning, as I was filling my plate at the snack table, I heard a voice behind me say, “I really like your jeans! Where’d you get your jeans?” I turned around and it was Krista! My fashion soulmate delivered straight from heaven!
How We Started Last Seen Wearing:
Within our first year of meeting, we went from talking about jeans to texting outfit pics to each other. We were our own two-person fashion account! Krista was an early adopter of Pinterest and Instagram, discovering fashion bloggers like Merrick’s Art and shopping on LTK. Meanwhile, she began pursuing a personal styling business, and soon I was encouraging her to start a blog or an Instagram account. One day, I told Krista, “Hey, why don’t we start an account together?” I don’t know if we even knew of any duo accounts at this point, so this was pretty radical thinking at the time!
Our kids were older and it was perfect timing to launch a second act. Soon we thought of a name, and on September 25th, 2017, while chatting after Tuesday morning bible study (full circle moment!), I told Krista, “You have a cute outfit on, I have a cute outfit on–let’s go back to my house and take photos!” That kicked off our incredible adventure of Lastseenwearing! It’s truly been a labor of love & friendship!
About Julie:
My family: Married to my college sweetheart Todd for 34 years! We have three grown children, Seth, Sadie & Lily. They’re all married and we’re blessed with three amazing in-laws! This year we became grandparents to a granddaughter in January, and a second granddaughter is due in July!
What I did before LSW: High school English teacher, stay-at-home mom, community theatre actor and director, and interior decorator for a residential construction company.
My guilty pleasure: With a daughter living in England, I’ve become a fanatic about teatime: Yorkshire Tea with honey & a splash of almond milk served with one Walker’s Shortbread cookie – preferably at 3:30 pm sharp.
How I describe my style: Modern classic with a bit of edge. I gravitate toward neutrals, but I love a bold green or feminine floral if it catches my eye!

About Krista:
My Family: Married to my college sweetheart Philip for 32 years! I have three wonderful adult sons, Carsten, Ian, and Adam. I have loved being a boy mom, and now I’m also blessed with a daughter-in-law, Emily, who is married to Ian!
What I did before LSW: High School History and English teacher, High School soccer and track coach, stay-at-home mom, church and school volunteer, personal stylist, substitute teacher (so glad LSW saved me from this last one!)
My guilty pleasure: Reality TV shows – I hesitate to start any new ones, or I’ll be hooked!
How I describe my style: Elevated casual with a bit of trend! My favorite clothing item has to be the date night top! I gravitate toward anything off the shoulder, one shoulder, ruffles, prints, halter necklines, etc. A date night top with a pair of cool denim and heels is my favorite look!
Stranded on a desert island products: OneSkin face lotion, Burt’s Bees lip balm, Lancome Hypnose mascara, Bobbi Brown Luxe Lipstick (Bahama Brown)
Favorite Workouts: Peloton Bike (any ride with Ben, Emma, or Robin!) Yoga, Pilates, Weights – I also love to get outside to golf, ski, or mountain bike!
