Long about mid-January we’re ready to shake off the winter blues with a big dose of pink & red! No waiting until February 14th for us to start styling Valentine’s Day outfits–the entire months of January & February are fair game for heart candy pastels and anything heart-shaped! We love celebrating love by styling effortless Valentine’s outfits in our everyday life. Here’s how we create subtle looks that give a nod to Valentine’s Day all season long!
most versatile: the heart graphic tee!

I love how on this heart graphic tee the hearts are in the middle of the tee, making it perfect to wear under a jacket! The graphic print is front and center! Since this tee incorporates mostly black hearts with just a pop of red, I feel like I can wear it year around. We wrote a previous blog post (linked here) about finding the perfect graphic tee–this one fits all of our criteria!
the power of pink

This bold color of pink seems to be having a moment right now, so it’s easier than ever to find fun ways to incorporate it into your Valentine’s outfits! BONUS: pink seems to be one of those colors that looks good on everyone! Unlike red, there are many shades of pink–pastel, medium pink, hot pink–and they all provide the perfect sweet touch for Valentine’s styling! Add just a touch with an accessory like a pink pump or scarf, or go big with a ruffly pink top!
the one & done heart sweater

If you have any type of Valentine’s or Galentine’s event, it’s ok to lose the subtlety and go all out with a fun heart sweater! This one is so cute with its pink heart and light brown stripes. It looks great with these girlfriend denim jeans, and you could also pair it with a skirt. Get a heart sweater that you love, and pull it out in February year after year!
the color of love: add a pop of red!

A little red goes a long way, and that suits us just fine! We always prefer an understated look for a holiday–a few pops of color here, and a few hearts there is all the statement we need. I love how Krista’s moto jacket gives some edge to the sweetness of the heart tee. A denim jacket or boyfried blazer would give the same effect. Her red shoe is unexpected and all the color this outfit needs! My heart sweater has just enough red to make it fun, but isn’t so Valentine-y that it can’t be worn beyond February.
When we style outfits for any holiday, we always want to look festive, but still stylish and cool. Sometimes there is a fine line! We don’t want to look over the top. Just by adding hearts, pink, red, or a Valentine’s graphic print in an obvious or unexpected way, you can celebrate the month of love in style!
