When it comes to getting dressed in the summer, we’re all about outfits that feel effortless but still put-together! Whether it’s a quick lunch, a weekend trip, or just a regular Tuesday when I want to feel cute without thinking too hard, these are the easy summer outfits over 40 we’re obsessed with!
We’ve been loving styles from Loft (they’ve been crushing it!), along with a few staple pieces from Sézane and Splendid. From polished denim to flowy dresses and even a surprise jort moment (🫢), we’re sharing all our summer outfit faves below!
Easy Denim Looks

These are some of our go-to outfits when we want to look pulled together without overthinking it! They’re simple, flattering, and can easily go from casual daywear to dinner out. We styled them with neutral heels and bags, but if you want to make things pop a bit, try a metallic sandal or clutch!

Me: Sézane Pierra Skirt in Ecru Polka Dot with the Félicien Top in Cream
Julie: Sézane Pippaé Dress in Black
These are easily some of our favorite outfits this season!! My polka dot skirt feels trendy but timeless, and I love this basic cream top. Julie’s dress is one of those pieces that works for just about anything. The waist tie makes it super flattering, and it also comes in two other great colors.
We kept the styling simple here and let the pieces speak for themselves with neutral shoes and understated accessories.
Polished Boho
Featuring: Loft Crochet Halter Midi Dress
This one was a bit outside my usual style, but I ended up loving it!! It has such a cool boho vibe that feels perfect for a beach trip, winery day, or outdoor dinner. Crochet has been everywhere this year, and this dress nails the trend! I wore it with Birkenstocks and a woven bag, and it came together really well.
Breezy and Feminine
Me: Loft Floral Strappy Maxi Dress
Julie: Loft Textured Side Knot Mini Dress
These dresses are giving us major brunch on the golf course vibes and we LOVE it! They’re both so easy and wearable, but still feel special and unique! My maxi dress has such a soft, pretty color palette and a flattering shape. Julie’s mini dress has this cool textured fabric that looks expensive. Throw a little cardigan over the shoulders and you have yourself a cute outfit! These are so easy to pair with some fun shoes, and a straw bag for an outfit that feels a little elevated without trying too hard.
Wedding Guest Favorites
Me: Loft Poplin Ruffle One Shoulder Mini Dress
Julie: Loft Striped Flounce Maxi Halter Dress
Both of these are a YES from us!! My one-shoulder dress makes a statement but isn’t too over the top and is easy to wear. It looks great with metallic accessories and feels like the kind of piece you can dress up or down depending on the vibe. Julie’s maxi has such a light, airy feel and is perfect for warm weather where you need to move around but you don’t want to get too hot. She added a pretty clutch to pull it all together!! These would both be great for summer weddings, especially beach or destination ones.
The Jort Comeback
We have to preface this one – yes, we said it. Jorts. But hear us out! We’re actually loving the longer denim short trend this year. The length feels appropriate for a bunch of different occasions and they’re great for staying cool without worrying about chafing or too much exposure!!
Me: Abercrombie Mid Rise Jort with the Michael Stars Isabel Convertible Gauze Top. I paired them with Lilly Pulitzer earrings and Dolce Vita Camilo kitten heels.
Julie: High Rise Dad Short (similar) with a Target Universal Thread Gauze Tank.

She styled it with black sandals, a Zara bandana, and a cool studded Madewell belt. We were both pleasantly surprised by how cute these turned out!
