Spain is seriously one of my favorite countries to visit! From the colorful streets of Seville to the sunny beaches of Malaga, there’s just so much to explore as I shared my Spain itinerary. Every city has its own vibe, the food is amazing, and the energy is contagious. Honestly, you could spend days in Spain and still not see everything.
Packing everything you need might feel tricky at first, but having the right items makes it so much easier to enjoy every moment. That’s why today I’m sharing my ultimate guide on what to pack for Spain, including outfits, travel essentials, and accessories that kept me comfy, stylish, and ready for adventure!
What to Pack for Spain
Spain is full of warm weather, sunny skies, and tons of walking, so packing smart is a must! You want outfits that can handle the sun, streets lined with cobblestones, and maybe even a little shopping or tapas night!! I’m breaking down everything I packed, from travel must-haves to my favorite outfits for walking, sightseeing, and dinners out.
Travel Essentials for Spain

These were a lifesaver on my flight! Seriously, noise cancellation is a game-changer. Whether you’re trying to sleep, watch a movie, or ignore crying babies next to you, these headphones make the flight so much easier. I highly recommend bringing them if you’re spending a lot of time in the air.
Flykitt Jet Lag Prevention System
If you want to land in Spain feeling energized and ready to go, this is a must! It helped me adjust to the time change quickly, so I could enjoy my first day without dragging. It really makes a difference!
Travel Duffel Bag
I love bringing a collapsible duffel for souvenirs or extra stuff I pick up along the way. Mine slides over my suitcase handle, which is clutch when walking through airports. Pack light, but leave room for a few Spanish souvenirs!

Spain Outfit Ideas
Spain is all about breathable fabrics, cute layers, and shoes you can actually walk in. Here’s what I packed and loved:
Spanx Striped Dress
The comfiest dress in the bestselling AirEssentials fabric! I wore this on a short flight to California and it worked so well I thought I’d try it on a long-haul flight too! It felt like I was wearing a nightgown, and come to find out, I actually DID forget pajamas, so this dress really came through for me in more ways than one! It also provided a warm weather, polished look for once we arrived in Spain! Pro tip: wear your chunkiest shoes on the flight to save on luggage space. My New Balance sneakers are 20k steps/day approved!
Black Top & Black Linen Pants
I bought this ruffle top and black linen pants on a recent trip to Newport Beach, CA. It was a total splurge, but the minute I tried it on, I knew it would be the perfect chic look for Europe. My only regret is that I didn’t wear it more while I was on my trip! I love both pieces so much and the fit is flawless. So high quality and timeless. I know I’ll get years of wear out of both pieces! I allowed myself three pairs of shoes only…these Birkenstock Big Buckle sandals were my “comfort” sandals. Cute & stylish, but able take a full day of sightseeing!
Black Top & Linen Skirt
Every travel capsule should include a white skirt! It’ll be the most versatile piece in your suitcase. Comfortable and chic, it coordinated with every top I packed and looked stylish walking around during the day and for dinner out at night. Swap comfort sandals for a slim sandal like these Nina slides for a more elevated look!
White Vest & Pattern Pants
When I was doing research on what to wear in Spain, I saw a lot of chic vest outfits! I already owned this Madewell white denim vest and knew it would be perfect! It goes with everything and instantly makes every outfit more polished. These pants are part of a coordinated set from Splendid (sold out, so linked similar). I highly recommend packing a patterned set like this–it’s so lightweight that it hardly takes up any room, it’s flowy and breezy for hot days, the pattern adds interest to your outfits, the pieces make excellent separates for outfits/swim coverups/warm layers, and when worn together, it makes a smashing going out outfit!
White Vest & Red Shorts
See how versatile this vest is? I loved it with these red linen shorts from Quince! I was so excited to have this fun pop of color in Spain, which is known for it’s bold, vibrant details. These shorts are 100% European linen and so affordable! Love the fit and you can feel the amazing quality. So good I want them in more colors!
Denim Top & Shorts
My best tip for packing–bring interesting statement tops! Fun tops with interesting details will add variety and style to your outfits more than anything else! I love this smocked denim top from Sezane (sold out, linked similar!) and it makes every outfit cuter all by itself.
Farm Rio Dress
I made room for one “dressy” dress in my suitcase and this Farm Rio slip dress was the perfect choice! I’ve never worn a slipdress with a better fit. I love that I can wear this casually with flat sandals and still feel dressed up. My color is sold out, but the same dress is available in other patterns.
Black Tie Dress
I never travel without the iconic Sezane side-tie dress! The quintessential black dress that’s always chic, always appropriate in every situation. The tie detail creates the most flattering silhouette. I sized up to a medium for a relaxed fit.
Spanx Top & Skort
The rule for each piece in my suitcase was that it had to coordinate with multiple items! My Spanx skort passed the test and so did this Sezane henley tank. Fun scarf accessories are trending, and I definitely saw lots of them walking around the streets of Spain!
Henley Tank & Spanx Skort
This is my look for a more active day. I ended up wearing this on a hike, and it was perfect! The AirEssentials fabric is cool, lightweight, and moisture-wicking and the skort style is comfortable for scrambling up a hillside. Looks cute with stylish sandals or athletic sneakers. My Lululemon crossbody bag is great for a more sporty look and holds all my essentials.
Pattern Top & White Flowy Pants
Here’s the top to my coordinated set with my favorite Splendid Palazzo pants. I wore both of these during our beach stay in Malaga, and they were ideal for throwing on over my swimsuit and also for going out to dinner. You really can’t beat a pair of flowy, breezy pants on a sunny vacay!

How to Pack for Spain

Saves space, reduces wrinkles, and lets you fit more into your suitcase. Essential if you’re planning a lot of walking and outfit changes.
