February has been a whirlwind for us personally, with trips and family commitments. Despite our busyness and the usual post-holiday shopping slump, we were surprised to have such good luck in February finding things we love!

Destination sweatshirt: We love this travel hack–don’t waste time looking for the perfect souvenir shirt on a trip… find a cute sweatshirt with the name of the place you’ve just travelled to after you get home! That’s what Julie did last year after a trip to England. She couldn’t find anything she liked but wanted a momento of her travels. After she got home, she did some searching online and found a sweatshirt she loved. Bingo! No one knows it wasn’t bought in the actual place, and who cares anyways!
krista:

Hooded sweater: I found this sweater while shopping on El Paseo in Palm Desert, CA. When I saw it, I knew I had to have it! I love the neutral color, how soft it is, and I’ve been in need of a hooded sweater or sweatshirt to wear under my jackets. This sweater adds a casual vibe to a moto jacket, blazer, or denim jacket. It’s hard to resist the two other colors! It also comes in blue or pink.

Rowan Vitality Natural Deodorant: The main thing I love about this deodorant is…it actually works! I’ve been pretty skeptical about natural deodorants in the past, because they were clearly ineffective on some people I know. Rowan Vitality supports natural body functions and aids in the removal of toxins. Baking soda, coconut oil, and essential oils work to stop odor before it gets started, and arrowroot helps to absorb wetness. I’m a believer!
Leopard bag: I love this little leopard bag! I’ve been noticing the trend of a shoulder bag that has a shorter strap so I kept my eye out until I found this one–and I love the lighter leopard color! It’s small in size, but big enough to hold all my essentials and then some. It’s a fun pop of color and print to add to so many outfits!

Running for My Life, by Lopez Lomong: This book tells such a gripping, emotional story! Here’s a quote from the back of the book: “Lopez Lomong chronicles his inspiring ascent from a barefoot lost boy of the Sudanese Civil War to a Nike sponsored athlete of the US Olympic team. Though most of us fall somewhere between the catastrophic lows and dizzying highs of Lomong’s incredible life, every reader will find in his story the human spark to pursue dreams that might seem unthinkable, even from circumstances that might appear hopeless.” I can’t wait to watch Lopez run in the Olympic trials! This book is the perfect story to get you fired up for the Summer Olympics!

Faux fur vests: I don’t normally buy multiples of any clothing item. I had that habit in the past, and I thought it made my closet a big boring. However, my love for my black faux fur vest made me buy it in cream as well! These vests are super cozy, the perfect length, and they add that extra bit of style and texture that make my outfits feel more funky and cool. I’m excited to style them into the spring!
julie:

Non-toxic dry shampoo: I’ve used lots of different dry shampoos, from drugstore varieties to salon brands. Many worked great, but I’ve become more aware of how toxins can affect long-term brain health. My goal has been to find a non-toxic dry shampoo that actually works! Recently, we were gifted dry shampoo by R&Co, a collective of top stylists & educators that produces safe & effective hair products. One of the biggest things for me is the scent. So many popular brands have a scent that’s so strong I can barely stand spraying it on, and if I’m not careful, it gives me a headache. I can honestly say, I love the scent of the Death Valley dry shampoo! It doesn’t bother me at all, and it refreshes and builds volume at the same time, all without harmful ingredients.

Camel suede boots: Last year I waited too long to grab the camel suede sock booties that I’d been loving on other bloggers. They were sold out, and ever since then I’ve been looking for a similar style. Finally I found these and they were 40% off to boot! (pun intended!) The pointy toe and subtle western detail makes them super stylish, but what I love the most is the moderate heel height! I can wear these all day long! The shaft is snug to the leg and is so flattering with lots of different outfits.
Felt hat: Another thing I’ve been on the search for is a felt hat that isn’t too tall, too wide, too expensive. If you can’t tell, I’m a patient shopper and content to keep looking until I find just the right thing! Recently, Krista & I were at University Village, and when I tried on this hat, Krista approved! Like eye glasses, a hat is something you definitely need someone else’s opinion on to tell you if it actually looks good!

Zara scarf: When I was in Paris last fall, I kept seeing Parisians with these light, linen-like scarves wrapped snugly around their necks. Men and women both were wearing them with all sorts of casual & dressy outfits. It just looked so chic with a tailored suit or even a casual leggings & sweatshirt outfit!
Black quilted purse: February was the month of finding things I’ve been on the hunt for! I’d been looking for a new black purse forever! Just ask Krista–she was really getting tired of my quest lol. I knew what I wanted: rectangular quilted style, adjustable chain strap, medium size, not too expensive. This one was definitely more spendy than what I was originally hoping for, but it was EXACTLY what i wanted and when it went on sale, I snagged it! I love the brushed gold detailing and high-quality leather!

Pouch handbag dupe: I’ve been drooling over the Bottega pouch, but spending that much money on a purse? Yikes! I was excited to find this dupe that has a similar vibe and I love this bone color that’s perfect for spring.

Heart of Anger, by Lou Priolo: Krista & I are mentors for moms of young children and lead a weekly bible study at our church. This is our current study and it’s just SO good! We both were in this same study when our kids were young, and it’s been one of our favorite books that we recommend over and over again. It’s not just about an angry child–it also addresses how to deal with your own anger, which was the most transformational thing about reading this book. Highly recommend!

Faux leather culottes: We saw this look on our fashion icon Olivia Palermo and had to recreate it! Plus faux leather everything is trending! We know we’ll get lots of use styling these for casual or dressy looks.
Thanks for reading!
